Hi, I’m Cynthia Anne Finefrock—author, traveler, and lifelong advocate for curiosity and kindness. After years as an educator and childcare professional, I discovered my true passion: combining storytelling with cultural exploration to inspire young readers. That passion led to the creation of the Winston the Traveling Dog series, where real travel photography brings each global adventure to life in a fresh and meaningful way.

My love of travel began behind the lens of a camera. What started as a comical idea—editing my dog Winston into my travel photos—quickly turned into something more: a creative spark that evolved into an award-winning book series now loved by families and classrooms alike.

Winston, a spirited Pomeranian, flew from Missouri to Arizona as a puppy (I guess he’s been “traveling” all along!) and has been my co-star ever since. He has a surprisingly worldly palate—loving everything from Thai and Indian to Moroccan cuisine. He also adores playing with his toys, sleeping on his back, and posing excitedly for the photographs that bring our stories to life.

Together, Winston and I are on a mission to spark curiosity, celebrate culture, and remind children that the world is full of wonder—just waiting to be explored.
